1. Birth details, exactly as entered — plus the ayanamsa used
The Patrika opens with the raw inputs: birth date, time and place. Everything downstream is computed from these three, on the sidereal (Lahiri/Chitrapaksha) zodiac Vedic astrology uses — never the tropical zodiac Western sun-sign astrology runs on. Getting this section right matters more than any other, because a wrong birth time moves the lagna and, through it, every house-based fact in the rest of the document.
2. The panchang running at your exact birth moment
Alongside the birth details sits the panchang for that precise moment — the tithi (lunar day), the nakshatra, the yoga and karana, and the weekday. This is the same five-limbed panchang used to pick a muhurat for any event, computed once for the moment you were born rather than for today.
3. A derived birth-detail table — Avakahada
From the birth chart, a further table of classical facts is derived: your rashi (Moon sign) and full janma nakshatra with pada, plus a set of classical categories — gana, yoni, nadi, varna, vashya, and tatva (the element of your Moon sign). Five of those — varna, vashya, yoni, gana and nadi — are among the eight kootas Kundli Milan compares between two charts. In a Janma Patrika they're shown for one person, as a reference table, not a verdict.
4. The planetary chart (D1) and houses
The core chart: where each of the nine grahas sat, sign by sign, at your birth moment, mapped onto the twelve houses counted from your lagna. This is the section most people mean by "my kundli" — the diamond or square diagram. In the Patrika it comes with the numbers behind the diagram, not just the picture.
5. A second, finer chart — the Navamsa (D9)
The Janma Patrika also computes the Navamsa, a second chart built by dividing each sign into nine finer segments. Classically it's read alongside the main D1 chart for a finer view — most often for marriage and inner strength — never as a replacement for it. This is the timing layer: which period was running at any point in life, and which one is running now. A Janma Patrika lays out the whole sequence; a chat-based reading is what explains what a specific period actually means for a specific question.
The honest limit: a Janma Patrika is a record, not a forecast. Every section above is a computed fact about a fixed moment in the past — where a planet sat, which period started when. None of it is a written verdict about the future on its own; turning a dasha period or a chart placement into an answer to "should I take this job" or "is this the right match" still requires reading that fact against the actual question, which is what a conversation does and a static document by itself does not.
